How are you feeling in your body, right at this moment?
Do you move with ease? Or does movement take more effort than it should? Maybe there’s some soreness or tension from those activities you were doing yesterday. (Or last week. Or last year!) Maybe you don’t feel any aches…but are hoping not to have many days where you do. Or perhaps you’ve got a lot of things on the go, and are looking for ways to make some time for yourself.
If any of these sound familiar, I want you to know that they’re common reasons people seek massage therapy. Many of my clients can relate, and hey, I’ve been there too! Getting a massage can help with all of these.
Massage Therapy is well-known for treating physical pain and discomfort, but can also be used to prevent injury, maintain and improve muscle and joint function, and alleviate stress. It involves treatment of the soft tissues for a variety of reasons and is suitable for people of all ages.
Some reasons you might come in for a massage are:
- Muscle tension and soreness
- Joint pain
- Nerve pain, numbness, or tingling
- Headaches and migraines
- Overuse injuries (from sports or work)
- Pregnancy
- Extensive computer/desk work
- Difficulty sleeping
- Relaxation and stress relief
My practice focuses include prenatal and postpartum massage, infant massage, and doula/labour support, however, I treat a diverse clientele — all are welcome. Each person is approached individually, with a treatment customized to their unique needs.
